Springer出版社是全球第一大科技图书出版公司，有着150多年发展历史，以出版学术性出版物而闻名于世，也是最早将纸本期刊做成电子版发行的出版商。

In the past decade, we have witnessed the giant advancement of silicon nanotechnology, which provides exciting new avenues for myriad electronic, energetic, environmental, biological and biomedical applications. Among them, exploration of silicon nanotechnology for bioapplications (so-called silicon nano-biotechnology) is one of the most important branches, receiving extensive attentions and revolutionizing basic research and clinic applications in recent years. Therefore, based on previous elegant work of scientists and recent progress of our group, we planned to publish a book that will introduce silicon nanotechnology for biological and biomedical applications, particularly for biosensing, bioimaging and cancer therapy. It is worthwhile to point out that, compared to sufficient published reports, limited references are cited due to page limitation. Nevertheless, we express our apologies to all the scientists whose research production are not introduced in this book. The present book may potentially served as a new starting points in the realm of silicon nano-biotechnology, and will be of interest to all chemists, material scientists, as well as biologists and clinicians.
