Dushuhu Hospital Affiliated to Soochow University (Suzhou Dushuhu Hospital) was Officially Opened

On December 30th, Dushuhu Hospital Affiliated to Soochow University (Suzhou Dushuhu hospital) was officially opened. Several government and university leaders attended the event, including Secretary Xu Kunlin from Suzhou Municipal Party Committee, Academician Ge Junbo from Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan Univesity, Academician Huang Hefeng from Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital Affiliated to Fudan Univesity, Mayor Li Ya Ping from Suzhou Municipal Government, Director Zhu Min from Jiangsu Commission of Health, and President Xiong Si dong and other university leaders from Soochow University. Deputy Director Wu Hong from Suzhou Industrial Park Administrative Committee presided over the ceremony.

Director Hou Jianquan from Dushuhu Hospital Affiliated to Soochow University briefly introduced construction and development of the hospital. He said that Dushuhu Hospital Affiliated to Soochow University would constantly improve the level of scientific management, innovative management, fine management and democratic management, guarantee the first-class treatment experience, build a harmonious doctor-patient relationship, and form a strong transformation ability.

Vice President Chen Weichang from Soochow University said that Dushuhu Hospital Affiliated to Soochow University defined the construction goal of a tertiary comprehensive hospital integrating high-level clinical diagnosis and treatment, high-quality medical personnel training, and high-level medical research.

Director Ding Lixin from Suzhou Industrial Park Administrative Committee said that development of Dushuhu Hospital Affiliated to Soochow University would be fully supported. The second phase project of the hospital had high starting point planning, high standard construction, and continuous optimization of operation process design, making it the benchmark and demonstration of medical institutions in the park. 

Director Zhu Min from Jiangsu Commission of Health hoped that the hospital could take advantage of research-oriented university of Soochow University to promote comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development of medicine, teaching and research, and take advantage of the regional advantages of the free trade zone to innovate technology to promote the high-quality development of the biomedical industry.

Mayor Li Ya Ping from Suzhou Municipal Government hoped that the hospital would firmly grasp the great opportunity of integration development of the Yangtze River Delta, strengthen the introduction and training of medical and health talents, and continuously improve the level of medical and health services. 

At the ceremony, six academicians and expert teams led by academician Ge Junbo and Huang Hefeng were presented letters of appointment.

 “The Clinical Transformation Center of Biomedicine in Suzhou Industrial Park” and “the Yangtze River Delta Branch Center of National Cancer Clinical Research Center” were inaugurated.

 

Dushuhu Hospital Affiliated to Soochow University (Suzhou Dushuhu hospital) is jointly built by Soochow Universityand Suzhou Industrial Park Administrative Committee. It is the first public tertiary comprehensive hospital in Suzhou Industrial Park. It bears the mission of meeting the needs of citizens to enjoy high-quality health services nearby, and shoulders the important task of promoting the clinical transformation of biomedical industry, promoting scientific research and personnel training in universities. The hospital is divided into two phases, with a total construction area of 500000 square meters and 3000 beds. At present, the construction area of phase I is 131000 square meters with 800 standard beds. The hospital will set up 39 clinical departments, 7 medical technology departments and 2 research institutions to build characteristic key specialties such as tumor, assisted reproduction, cardio cerebrovascular, respiratory and critical care medicine, and build endoscopy center, biomedical clinical transformation center and international diagnosis and treatment center.
