At 10 a.m. on September 8, the National Commendation Conference for the fight against COVID-19 was held in People’s Great Hall in Beijing. The conference also commended honored individuals and collectives in the nation's fight against COVID-19.

Qian Hongying, head Nurse of the Respiratory Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow, Shi Xiaosong, Director of the infection Management Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow, Zhang Jianping, vice-President of the Affiliated Infectious Disease Hospital of Soochow, and Yang Zhengping, Chief Physician of ICU of the Affiliated Qinghai People's Hospital of Soochow were honored as "Nationally Honored Individuals in the Fight against COVID-19".

As a nurse and a Communist Party member, Qian hongying volunteered to become the nursing leader of the second medical team of Suzhou as well as the fifth batch of medical to aid to Hubei province. She led the nursing team to fight for more than 50 days in Wuhan, adhered to nearly 300 shifts. She also received more than 30 letters from patients who showed their sincere thanks, and Qian was highly recognized by the doctor team.

On January 28, Shi Xiaosong rushed to Wuhan resolutely. He designed the isolation ward rationally according to the existing conditions and improved various infection control measures as well as made the overall plan of the hospital to fight against the epidemic, and participated in the development of extremely strict resident awareness control.

Since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia, Zhang Jianping had been the frontline commander of the hospital's medical treatment and prevention and control of hospital infections. He organized the formulation of more than 20 document procedures for hospital prevention and control, treatment, and infection control, and initiated emergency treatment plans for the entire hospital.

After the outbreak of COVID-19, Yang Zhengping participated in more than 80 investigations of suspected fever patients and received more than 200 consultations on theCOVID-19. To achieve the goal of zero deaths and zero infections in Qinghai Province, Yang has made significant contributions.
