On May 9, Director of Personnel Department of the Ministry of Education and Sports of Laos led a delegation visiting our university. Wang Zhuojun, Secretary of the Party Committee of our university, and President Xiong Sidong respectively met with the delegation of the Ministry of Education and Sports of Laos.

Wang Zhuojun expressed thanks to the Ministry of Education and Sports of Laos for its support to the construction of Soochow University in Laos. "Soochow University pays great attention to the construction of Soochow University in Laos and we will make efforts to construct well Soochow University in Laos. Soochow University hopes to strengthen the cooperation with Lao Government, especially the cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Sports of Laos, and to promote in-depth development of exchange and cooperation in education between China and Laos with Soochow University in Laos as a platform," he said.

President Xiong Sidong introduced our university's history and current situations. The purpose of the delegation of the Ministry of Education and Sports of Laos's visit is to learn China's practice and experience in developing non-government funded education and to promote healthy development and standard management of Lao non-government funded education.
