Professor Chi Lifeng from Soochow University was Elected as Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences

On November 18th, the Chinese Academy of Sciences unveiled the list of new academicians in 2021. In 2021, the Chinese Academy of Sciences elected 65 Chinese academicians and 25 foreign academicians. Professor Chi Lifeng from Soochow University was elected as Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Chi Lifeng was born in October 1957. She is now a professor and doctoral supervisor from Institute of Functional Nano & Soft Materials of Soochow University. She is currently the deputy editor of Chemical Journal of Chinese Universities and serves as the editorial board member of Journals such as ACS Nano, chem Commun., Small, Acc. Mater. In 2016, she won the ACS Nano Lectureship Award of the United States. In 2017, she won Distinguished Women in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering Awards by IUPAC. In 2020, she was successively elected as Foreign Academician of Academia Europaea and the first batch of Fellow of Chinese Chemical Society.

Professor Chi Lifeng has long been engaged in the research of surface and interface molecular assembly and reaction in the field of physical chemistry. Her research has made important contributions to development of surface physical chemistry and achieved systematic innovative results. More than 450 SCI papers have been published. The papers published by her with the first or corresponding author include Nature, Science, J. am Chem. Soc.Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.Acc. Chem. Res.Adv. Mater. Wait.
